What is a deformer / deaerator's purpose in the paper industry?
A deaerator, also known as a deformer, is a device used in the paper industry to remove dissolved gases, primarily air and carbon dioxide, from the pulp suspension before it is formed into paper. The purpose of the Deformer & DE-AERATION Chemicals is to improve the quality of the final paper product by reducing the number of bubbles and voids present in the pulp. The deaeration process is typically accomplished by passing the pulp suspension through a vessel that contains a series of trays or plates. As the pulp flows through the vessel, the pressure is reduced and the dissolved gases are released and removed. The deaerated pulp is then ready for the paper-making process. Deaeration is an important step in the paper-making process because the presence of dissolved gases can cause a number of problems. Bubbles and voids in the pulp can lead to weak and uneven paper, while dissolved gases can also cause discoloration and reduce the strength of the finished product. In additi...
